Information about Recruitment of Constable in Delhi Police

INFORMATION ABOUT RECRUITMENT OF CONSTABLE (EXECUTIVE-MALE) IN DELHI POLICE – 2008

1. The Delhi Police invites application from unmarried Indian fill up 3388 vacancies of constables (executive-male) in Delhi Police under the following categories in the pay scale of 3050-75-3950-80-4590 and other allowances.

Recruitment will be held at Delhi, Candidates from all parts of the country fulfilling conditions mentioned hereunder can apply.
•     General     1711
•     O.B.C.     915
•     S.C.     508
•     S.T.     254
•     Ex-Serviceman     10% of total vacancies in each category mentioned above

2. CLOSING DATE:

Last date of receipt of duly filled-in application form is 25th May 2008. Applications received thereafter will not be entertained.
3. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:

1. NATIONALITY: Applicant shall be a bonafide citizen of INDIA.
2. AGE: 18 to 21 years as on 01.01.2008
1. Relaxable upto the age of 26 years for SC/ST candidates and sportsmen of distinction who have represented a state at the national level andthe country at the international level in sports. The discipline of sports for which relaxation is permissible as per table given below. If a candidate belongs to SC/ST category and fulfills the above criteria, he is eligible for 5 years relaxation in upper age limit over and above the relaxation.

2. Relaxable up to the age of 24 years for OBC This relaxation is admissible for those castes notified in the Central List and the List issued by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
3. Ex-servicemen who are paid from Central revenues may be re-enlisted as Constable at the discretion of the appointing authority, if their discharge certificate shows previous service as good or of higher classification provided that-

(a) They present themselves within two years of previous discharge;

(b) They conform to the educational standard laid down for recruits from open market and such endurance/efficiency as prescribed by the Commissioner of Police from time-to-time by issuing necessary standing orders;

(c) They are medically fit for police service according to the standards prescribed for recruits and

(d) Age concession shall be allowed to them in accordance with the orders/instructions on the subject issued by the Central Government from time-to-time.

“Ex-Serviceman” means a person, who has served in any rank whether as a combatant or non-combatant in Army, Navy or Air Force of the Indian Union and who retired from such service after earning his pension.

Note: Ex-servicemen, released at their own request, should have a minimum of five years qualifying service to be reckoned from the date of their enrolment.
4. Maximum age limit upto 25 years for the sons of police personnel and group ‘D’ employees of Delhi Police either serving, retired or deceased. Required certificate should be on the prescribed format.
4. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND PHYSICAL STANDARD : 10+ 2 (Senior Secondary) pass from a recognized Board Graduation Certificate for Ex-Servicemen.

Relaxable upto 11th pass only for:-

i Bandsmen, buglers, mounted constable, drivers, dispatch riders, etc.

ii Sons of serving, deceased, retired police personnel including Group ‘D’ employees of Delhi Police.
4. HEIGHT:  Minimum 170 Cms.

Relaxable by 5 cms. for :-

i. Residents of hill areas e.g. Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the states of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh regions of J&K. (candidates claiming this relaxation would have to produce a certificate to this effect (Hill area certificate) from the competent authority i.e. DC/DM/SDM or Tehsildar of their place of residence at the time of physical measurement test)

ii. ST candidates.

iii. Sons of Delhi Police personnel (including Group ‘D’ employees) either retired, deceased or serving.
5. CHEST:  Minimum 81 to 85 cms (with minimum expansion of 4 cms).

Relaxable by 5 cms. for :-

i. Residents of hill area e.g. Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the states

of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh regions of J&K. (candidates claiming this relaxation would have to produce a certificate to this

effect (Hill area certificate) from the competent authority i.e. DC/DM/SDM or Tehsildar of their place of residence

at the time of physical measurement test)

ii. ST candidates

iii. Sons of Delhi Police personnel (including Group ‘D’ employees) either retired, deceased or serving.

Note:

a. The wards of police personnel belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Hill area category will not be entitled to double relaxation. They can claim relaxation either in Caste category or in police personnel category.

b. Candidate belonging to the wards of police personnel category shall produce certificate in prescribed format issued by DCP/Addl. DCP or ACP/Hdqrs.of the Distts/Units where the police personnel served last.

5. MEDICAL STANDARD:

The candidates should be of sound state of health, free from defect, deformity or disease. Both eyes should have a vision 6/12 (without glasses). No relaxation is allowed to any category of candidates on this count.

Note:

• Under the Recruitment Scheme, no documents along with Application Form have been sought and the information given by        the candidate will be presumed to be correct. To seek fee exemption of Rs. 100/-, the  SC/ST & Ex-servicemen candidates        needs to attach a certificate of their respective category. (As per the format given)
