CAT 2010 Registration Starts from 30th August
CAT 2010 registration/application vouchers can be obtained from selected Axis Bank branches between 30th August and 27th September, 2010.
The CAT 2010 vouchers, which are compulsory for MBA aspirants seeking admission to Indian Institutes of Management, are priced at Rs. 1400 (Rs. 700 for SC/ST candidates). The list of Axis bank branches where the vouchers will be sold has not been announced yet. The second version of computer based CAT is being held over a twenty day period between 27th October and 24 November 2010. A CAT practice test will be available from 30th August 2010.
CAT 2010 results are scheduled to be announced on 12th January, 2011. After CAT 2010 results are announced, IIMs will
shortlist the names of the candidates invited for admission interviews to the IIM’s trademark PGP courses. Each IIM will send interview letters to the candidates it has short-listed. The criteria for short-listing varies from IIM to IIM.
Please note that a candidate needs to buy only one CAT 2010 Voucher irrespective of the number of institutes he/she is applying to. The CAT 2010 voucher must be bought only in the name of the candidate as it appears in the school leaving certificate. If the name has been changed due to events such as marriage, the candidate must show the relevant document such as a marriage certificate and submit a photocopy at the time of the test, interview and at the time of joining a programme.
SC and ST candidates must show a copy of their SC/ST Certificates at the time of obtaining the CAT 2010 Voucher from the Axis
Who is eligible to take CAT 2010?
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) categories]. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/ institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree.
IIMs may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process.
